Research and Planning: Magazine Cover, Contents, Double page spread With Audience Feedback

  1. I like the fact that the colours you have used match each other, they are also colours that fit in with the genre of this magazine - 'RnB'. There is a space on your contents page that obviously needs filling in and you still need to put in your main title for your cover story. I also like how you have managed to put in the logos of social networking sites such as 'facebook' and 'twitter'. This therefore making it connect with your audience even more.

  3. I love the consistent house style here. Specifically:
Front page: I really like how you have used the picture as your whole background. I also like the placement of the slogan, which makes your magazine a little different to some others, where the slogan is below the masthead. The shapes used however are a bit simple. For example, the box for the competition could be jazzed up a little, and there is a lot of white space.
Contents: I love how the background for the title and contents are linked, and there is a little bit of blue showing behind the picture. Once you have another picture in the space, it'll look really good. You could maybe try putting a small version of the magazine name in the top left hand corner, too? :)
Double page spread: This page works really well. The social networking icons are really creative and a good idea. I also like how your model is wearing a different outfit from the one she is wearing on the front page. The only thing I think doesn't work is the colour of the writing on the picture, as it isn't the easiest to read.

Overall, your magazine is very good! Hard work is evident, you should be very proud :')

  4. Front Cover:
I really like the photograph, this is well taken and she's looking directly into the camera. I like how you have used the blue colour that matches her mise-en-scene. I think that the blank space could be used up by adding more detail in a story or extra story's.

    Contents Page:
The continuous colour of blue carrying through is very good as your following other music conventions The photograph shows the genre of the magazine too, the only improvement would be to add another photograph.

    Double Page-Spread:
I like the whole layout of this page, I think the blue banner at the top works really well too, I think that the blue writing on the image tho might need to be changed colour as its not that easy to read.

  5. Front cover: I really like the way in which the colour blue is apparent not only in the use of the masthead and text colour , but in the outfit choice as her jeans are blue and also her eye colour which all compliment the page making it look really eye catching. The image on the front cover is really fitting with the R&B style.

Contents page: I think the continuity of the colour blue is a really great thing as it links the pages together. Also the way the writing is neatly presented gives a professional feel to the magazine. The only thing I would say is missing is a picture or text in the blank space.

Double page spread: Really love the image on this page as it really screams out R&B, and with the direct eye contact creates a personal feel to the magazine. Also the main body of text is really well laid out. The other thing which I think is great is the facebook and twitter symbols at the bottom.
