Research and Planning: Plan For Upcoming Weeks

My plan for the upcoming weeks are to take some pictures for my double page spread as I had taken some pictures although my model was not wearing any different clothes. I will use the same model from my front cover on my double page spread but she needs a different costume idea as the outfit needs to be different from the front cover outfit.
I will take some test shots of my model in a different outfit and then I shall pick out the picture/pictures that I think are the best and most suitable to use on my double page spread.

Research and Planning: Colour Theme

My original colour theme for my R&B music magazine was black, white and pink.
I then thought about these colours and looked at my research of other R&B music magazines.
The colours that I originally chose seem more suitable for a pop magazine rather than an R&B magazine and they do not suit the genre of my magazine.
Therefore, I have decided on a colour change. I am thinking of using the colours purple, black and grey as they seem more suitable for an R&B magazine and you usually see R&B magazines in these types of colours.

Research and Planning: Draft

Here is my front cover, contents page and double page spread.
They are only drafts of what I want my music magazine to be like.
I am thinking of changing the colours of my magazine and also I may change the picture that has been used on my double page spread.
The picture on my contents page will be put onto it better and another picture may be added on there along with it.
I still yet have to cut my picture out on my front cover as at the moment it is including the background with it. I also have to blend part of my model's head in with my main picture as I took the picture and cut the top of her head off. So I will blend her head from another picture onto my main one.

Research and Planning: First Draft Of Music Magazine

This is my cover page, contents page and double page spread so far. These pictures show where I am up to in the production of my magazine. On all three of them I still need to add the pictures and there are some things that need to be made better but I am close to the final piece.

Research and Planning: Music Magazine History

One of the oldest music trade magazines in the world is Billboard, a weekly American magazine all about music. Billboard was founded in Cincinnati on November 1st 1894. It was founded by William H. Donaldson and James H. Hennegan. From 1961 until 2005, Billboard magazine was devoted to the music industry. Billboards first issue was in the year 1894 and it is still going today as one of the most popular music magazines.

Research and Planning: R&B Artist Outfits

I have research different R&B singers and studied their outfits closely to see what exactly they all wear. I have made comparisons to other R&B artists to see if what they are wearing is similar.

According to my research on typical R&B artistsI have found that most artists wear things such as leather jackets, coloured jeans, ripped jeans, ripped shorts, hoodies, sunglasses, heels, trainers, caps, long necklaces, diamante jewellery, vest tops, scarfs and headphones.

Research and Planning: Costume For Contents Page

Research and Planning: Costume For Front Cover & Double Page Spread

This is the outfit that I have chosen for my model on my front cover and double page spread to wear. I have chosen these as they are typical of what you would see on an R&B magazine and they are the type of clothes that an R&B singer would wear. They are modern clothes and also urban. They are feminine too so that shows I am using a female model. I have also shown the shoes that were worn as well as the jewellery.

Research and Planning: Pictures Considered For Double Page Spread

These four pictures are the pictures that I am taking into consideration for my double page spread. I am thinking of chosing either two or three of these pictures for the use of my double page spread but I am still unsure. I have used the same model for this page as I have for my front cover. There are a different number of poses in these pictures so that there is a difference between them all and so they are all not the same or similar.

Research and Planning: Pictures Considered For Contents Page

These four pictures are the pictures that I am taking into consideration for using in my contents page for my music magazine. I may use one picture from each model as they are both male and female or I may just use a picture from one of the model's. If I was to chose one model, it would be the male model beacuse I have already used a female for my front cover and double page spread so by using a male could show a difference.

Research and Planning: Considered Pictures For Front Cover

These four pictures are the pictures that I am taking into consideration for my title page of my music magazine. These are some of the best ones that I have taken and they are mid-shot pictures therefore they are suitable for a front cover.

Research and Planning: Today's Work

This is the work that I have managed to do today in my media lesson.
I have made a start on the content of my double page spread and began with the interview of the main model on my front cover. There are some adjustments still to be made. I need to add on the pictures as well as finish off the questions and answers for the interview.

Research and Planning: Contents Page Current Work

Here is my work for my contents page so far.
I have nearly completed it but I have to add on my picture yet and make a few little adjustments to complete it fully.
I have left a space under the text on the second column for my picture to go in.
I have chosen to go with black, white and pink as my colour theme I I have stuck with that for my contents page. I have chosen to do black lines across the background of the page to give it more of an edge and to make it not look as plain as it originally was.

Research and Planning: Today's Work

This is my work what I have done today. I have made a start on my double page spread for my magazine.
I have left to do this page last as it takes more time and it takes longer to do and a lot more content is being put into this.
i have stuck with my black, white and pink colour theme here too so that it consists with the front cover and contents page. I have added a quote from the interview at the top as this is what actual magazines do with interviews on double page spreads so it makes it look more realistic. I have also added four columns; three for text and one for pictures.
